Ironweed (Vernonia) is a fantastic native perennial for landscapes. It features sturdy upright stems (3 to 8 feet tall) topped with intense purple or magenta flower clusters in late summer. It attracts heavy numbers of pollinators, resists deer, and needs no staking.
